CPI stage demonstration on petro price hike
Puducherry, Feb 16 (UNI) Volunteers of Communist Party of India (CPI) today held a demonstration at the junction of Nehru and Gandhi streets here to protest the price hike of petrol and diesel.
Stating that the price hike would severely affect the common people, the party demanded the prices be rolled back.
Legislators R Viswanathan and Na Ra Kalainathan, and party town secretary Anand, were among others, who participated in the agitation.
All India Jana Sakthi Labour Union members also staged a demonstration near a statue of former Congress leader K Kamaraj.
