CPI-M objects to Sonia's remarks against Kerala Govt
Kannur, Feb 16 (UNI) Kerala CPI(M) Secretary Pinarayi Vijayan today said the Centre cannot rule the country according to its whims and fancies.
Coming down heavily on Congress President Sonia Gandhi for her statement against the Left-ruled state governments, Mr Vijayan said ''The Centre cannot do whatever it likes.'' Participating in a meet-the-press programme here, the re-elected Party Secretary said ''She (Mrs Gandhi) does not know anything about Kerala. The Centre's stand against the state is not justifiable.'' During a public meeting at Thiruvananthapuram yesterday, Mrs Gandhi had criticised the Left Democratic Front government in Kerala and said the Marxist leaders for doing ''whatever they liked'' in the states ruled by them.
He alleged that the UPA government has reduced about 82 per cent of ration share to the state.
Mr Vijayan, who was re-elected the party secretary at the just-concluded State Conference, said the meeting has brought in major changes in the party.
