Businessman sentenced to death for murdering wife, 3 children
New Delhi, Feb 16 (UNI) A local court today sentenced to death a businessman, who was found guilty of murdering his wife and three minor daughters on July 4, 2005.
Additional Sesions Judge B R Kedia today read out the verdict.
According to prosecution, businessman Raj Kumar Khandelwal Bihar along with his wife Anita and three daughtera, had checked in a Hotel in old Delhi area on June 25, 2007 on fake name and address.
On July 4, 2005, he left the hotel and informed the hotel authorities that he was going out to bring money for clearance of the hotel bill.
The next day, a waiter found four members of the family dead in the room. An FIR was then registered under Sec 302 IPC in Lahori Gate police station.
Khandelwal was arrested from Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station on July 7, 2005.
Prosecution found that the cause of the deaths was consumption of poison and further investigation revealed that Khandelwal had purchased tablets of sulphur way back in May, 2005.
