Bucknor back, to officiate in Bangladesh

By Staff

Kuala Lumpur, Feb 16 (UNI) Controversial umpire Steve Bucknor is back.

Sacked from the India-Australia series, the veteran West Indian will officiate in India's neighbouring country Bangladesh in the Test series against South Africa.

His name, along with Pakistan's Aleem Dar has been approved by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for the two-Test series.

Ranjan Madugalle will oversee both the Tests and ODI series as Match Referee.

The first Test between Bangladesh and South Africa is sheduled to be played from February 22-26 in Dhaka and after that the action will shift to Chittagong for the second Test, which starts on February 29.

After the Test series, the host team will play South Africa in three ODIs, one in Chittagong on March 9 and the other two in Dhaka on March 12 and March 14.

All three of those ODIs will be umpired by Aleem Dar and a local appointment.

Bangladesh will then host Ireland for another three-match ODI series. All the ODIs will take place in Dhaka on March 18, March 20 and March 22 with Tyron Wijewardena standing along with a local appointment.
