New Delhi, Feb 16 (UNI) Strongly condemning the Uttar Pradesh Government's decision of reducing its senior Rajya Sabha MP Kalraj Mishra's security, the BJP today accused Chief Minister Mayawati of adopting ''double standard,'' for herself and leaders from the opposition parties.
BJP spokesman Rajiv Pratap Rudy said the Mayawati government had scaled down Mr Mishra's security status from 'Z Category' to 'Y Category' and later to 'Zero Security'. While she had quarrels with the Centre over her own security demanding SPG cover, she was turning blind eye to the concerns of senior BJP leaders in UP, he alleged.
Mr Mishra, who was also present, said the UP Government had provided him with security sensing problems regarding his personal safety after he sought ban on SIMI and its anti-social activities.
It was strange that the BSP government had withdrawn the security, he added.
