Rawalpindi, Feb 16 : The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) probing the assassination of former Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto has recorded the statement of Abdul Rashid Turabi in connection with the case.
According to the superintendent of Police (Investigations), Tahir Ayub, Turabi has confessed to his involvement in the attack on Benazir.
Special Judicial Magistrate Ahmed Masood Janjua recorded turabi's statement after he was produced before the court.
Turabi is now lodged in the Central Jail at Adiala on judicial remand for 14 days.
Investigators are claiming that Turabi was also involved in suicide attacks on security personnel in Rawalpindi and belonged to some militant group.
