Srinagar, Feb 16 (UNI) Concerned over the reports about shortage of essential and other services in the far flung and remote areas in central Kashmir district of Badgam, Deputy Commissioner Khawaja Farooq Ahmad Renzu has constituted 13 teams to closely monitor functioning of these services.

Mr Renzu in his order said the teams will be headed by senior level officers to monitor the availability of essential services and allied activities in the district.

The team headed by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Budgam inspected office of Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) and found him absent.

Earlier, people from different remote areas had complained that ARTO is not monitoring transport services properly as a result of which some sumo operators are charging high rates.

He has ordered that till further action is taken against ARTO Mohammad Ayub will hold the charge of the office.

He was directed to immediately ensure that all kinds of transport services to far-flung areas are made operational.
