MP most conducive for investment: Birla
Jabalpur, Feb 15 (UNI) Aditya Birla Group Chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla today said that Madhya Pradesh is India's most conducive destination for industrial investment.
''I have a 50 year-old association with this state. My family set up Grasim at Nagda in 1950. It is the world's largest fibre-based unit. In that sense, Madhya Pradesh is like my home state,'' he said here while addressing, as chief guest, the inaugural session of the Investors' Meet 2008.
Among those present were Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Assembly Speaker Ishwardas Rohani, Industry Minister Jayant Malaiyya, Health Minister Ajay Vishnoi and Chief Secretary Rakesh Sahni.
''Madhya Pradesh is changing more rapidly on the development front compared to other states. I will provide work to more and more youths through units set up under by Group's banner,'' said Mr Birla.
''This event's efforts will lead to positive results in the direction of fructifying industrial development possibilities in Mahakaushal, Vindhya and Bundelkhand regions,'' said Mr Malaiyya.
State Industrial Development Corporation Managing Director Praveen Garg gave a power presentation on Madhya Pradesh's industrial scenario.
