Doha, Feb 15 (UNI) India grabbed two silver and two bronze medals on the second day of the Asian Indoor Games at Doha here today.
Triple jumper Amarjeet Singh leapt to 16.26 metre in his last attempt but had to settle for silver.
Valiyev Roman of Kazakhstan won the gold with an a jump of 16.32 metre while Philakong Theerayut of Thailand got the bronze with 16.04 metre.
Meanwhile, Chatholi Hamza won silver in the 1500 metre with a time of 3:41.18, less than half a second behind Ali Thamer of Qatar who recorded 3:40.86. The bronze went to Kamal Abubaker, also of Qatar who recorded 3:42.50.
In the Women's 400 metre, Mandeep Kaur proved her mettle by running an excellent 400m to win bronze in 54.28 seconds. Her teammate Manjeet Kaur finished fifth with 56.20.
The other bronze was won by Leelavath Veerappan in the Women's 60 metre hurdles with a time of 9.21 seconds.
The gold went to Liu Jing of China who had a time of 8.31 seconds while Soprunova Anastassiya of Kazakhstan bagged silver with 8.34 seconds.
India has now got an overall total of 1 gold, four silver and three bronze medals.
