Agreements worth Rs 10,310 cr inked in MP
Jabalpur, Feb 15 (UNI) Five memoranda of understanding (MoU) worth Rs 10,310 crore were inked today, in the presence of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Aditya Birla Group Chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla, for industrial investment in the state.
The MoU were signed at Tarang Auditorium here after the Investors' Meet 2008 got underway today. Assembly Speaker Ishwardas Rohani, Industry Minister Jayant Malaiyya, Health Minister Ajay Vishnoi and Chief Secretary Rakesh Sahni were also present.
Bhopal's Dainik Bhaskar Group Managing Director Girish Agrawal signed a Rs 600-cr MoU with Secretary (Energy) Sanjay Bandopadhyay for a 1,100-MW power project in Shahdol district while Gujarat's M/s Sanghi Energy Limited Managing Director D B Rao inked a Rs 1,620-cr deal for a 405-MW project in Satna district.
Mumbai's M/s Eurobond Industries Ltd Chairman Nancy Shah signed a Rs 1,100-cr MoU with Madhya Pradesh State Industrial Development Corporation MD Praveen Garg for a Green Field Project in Sihora, Katni and Chhatarpur districts. M/s Mysore Cement MD Ashish Guha inked a Rs 890-cr deal for expanding the company's cement plant in Damoh district.
M/s Sandhya Prakash Ltd MD Bharat Patel signed a Rs 700-cr MoU for a cement plant project in Satna district.
''Every industrialist investing in Madhya Pradesh will be provided adequate facilities,'' assured Mr Chouhan.
