Accused in dowry case held at airport

Chennai, Feb 15 (UNI) A 35-year old software engineer working in Mumbai, was arrested at the International Airport here in connection with a dowry harassment case registered in the Maharashtra capital.

Airport officials said that based on the request made by Mumbai police, Chinnadurai was held by the airport Customs officials during immigration check, when he was about to board a London-bound flight.

According to the case, his wife Sonia (35), also a Mumbai-based software engineer, had registered a dowry harrassment case against the accused, who married her two years back.

Evading arrest, Chinnadurai had escaped from Mumbai to Chennai recently. He was trying to go to London for taking up a job.

Officials said he would be handed over to the Mumbai police, who were on the way to Chennai.
