Ten injure in NSUI, Bajrang Dal clashes
Vidisha, MP, Feb 14 (UNI) Ten people were injured, two seriously, in a clash between National Students' Union of India (NSUI) workers and their Bajrang Dal counterparts, when the latter mistook a small NSUI procession, to be a part of Valentine's Day celebrations at this district's Lateri tahsil, police said.
NSUI workers were celebrating and distributing sweets to mark Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Personnel Suresh Pachouri, being made the Congress' Madhya Pradesh unit president. Dal workers misunderstood that NSUI workers were taking out the procession to support the Valentine Day, leading to a clash.
Crude guns were fired in the air, stabbing weapons and lathis were used by both the groups. The injured were rushed to hospital.
The seriously hurt were identified as NSUI's Arif and Sharif.
A case was registered following complaints by both the groups but no arrest was made.
