More than 14,500 PAP have not received shelter
Mumbai, Feb 14 (UNI) More than 14,500 Project Affect People (PAP) are moving pillar to post to get the possession of their flats as the developers failed to hand over the flats to implementing agency even after seven years of the (Slum Rehabilitation Authority) SRA scheme.
The SRA developers have miserably failed to hand over the 14,888 flats of Project affected people to the BMC, SPPL and MMRDA, these agencies were engaged for the distribution of the flats to PAP by the Government.
Advocate Sushan Kunjuraman has issued legal notice to Principal Secretary SRA scheme, here today, stating that about 14,888 PAPs pertaining to various development projects standing on various plots in the juridication of 15 BMC wards of the 24 wards in the city are still in the possession of the respective developers for more than seven years.
He also stated that developers have allegedly violated the terms and conditions of the project under the Monopolies and Restrictive Trade Practices (MRPT) Act. He demanded to initiate legal action against those developers under 153(1)(2) of MRTP act.
Mr Kunjuraman also pointed out that maximum number of PAPs are poor people, who are waiting in queue, for years together, for their legitimate shelters.
