Militants' attack disrupts power supply to Mizoram
Aizawl, Feb 14(UNI) Power generation from Kopili and Khandong power stations was disrupted following militants attack on shift personnel, affecting power supply to the entire Northeastern region.
Assistant engineer (P&E) Laltlanthangi today said three security personnel and a driver were killed and four critically injured by militants when they attacked a convoy of vehicles carrying the shift personnel. The vehicles escorted by security personnel were proceeding to Kopili power station for attending duties on February 11.
'' Due to the workers' fear to attend their duties and the damage of the 33KV power supply system feeding station supply to Kopili I and II and Khandon power stations, we have not been receiving adequate power supply,'' the official said.
However, all efforts are being taken to maintain regular power supply, he stated.
