Melbourne, Feb 14 : Single boys and girls might be able to change their status thanks to the new online dating website that hooks people up through six degrees of separation.
The website, MeetMyFriend.com.au, which is officially launched on Feb 14, allows users to introduce their single friends to the single friends of others.
Created by Franky Callanan, the site which is offering its first 500 members free membership, works on the philosophy that everyone is connected through 'six degrees of separation' and that being introduced to people through friends is easier than blind dating.
The site's dating is built on each member's network of friends, and allows people to 'hook up' their single friends with other acquaintances, making it safer for those who are nervous about the online dating experience.
"You can now set up your friends without any pressure or awkwardness, let them mingle with other friends or just meddle in their lives," the Daily Telegraph quoted Callanan, as saying.
"Following on from the huge success of a similarly-themed website in the UK, Meet My Friend brings this concept to the Australian market.
"The website has grown from a genuine pool of six people's friends, which is exciting as it will put the idea of 'six degrees of separation' to the test," he said.
"Our fast pace of living often means people are no longer able to get out and meet people - or the right people as much as they would like. MeetMyFriend.com.au is the modern solution to expanding social networks," Callanan added.
