Nagpur, Feb 14: Sleuths of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) caught an official of the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) red-handed while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 8,000 here.

The KVIC employee, identified as Assistant Development Officer Prakash Chodalwar, had asked for the money from a rice mill owner on the pretext of helping him get the benefit of the commission's subsidy scheme, CBI sources said yesterday.

The rice mill owner, from Lakhni in adjoining Bhandara district, lodged a complaint with the CBI office here, after which the sleuths laid a trap and caught Chodalwar yesterday taking the money right outside Nagpur railway station this morning, the sources said, adding that the official had been placed under arrest.
