Hexaware's Chennai software centre to start functioning from June
Mumbai, Feb 14 (UNI) Hexaware today announced that its Chennai software centre is in advanced stage of development and will start functioning from June this year.
Hexaware Founder Chairman Atul Nishar told newsmen on the sidelines of the NASSCOM Leadership Summit here that the 4000 seat centre was in addition to other SEZs, the company was planning in Navi Mumbai, Pune and Nagpur.
The Company would be spending Rs 200 crore over the next four to five quarters in infrastructure development and had no plans to cut jobs.
Admitting that the pressures had redoubled due to the US slow down and the rupee appreciation, Mr Nishar however expressed confidence that the outlook was bright for the IT industry in the country ''the industry is doing very well, and we are also doing well' he said.
He said the company, which opened its second unit in Mexico last year, has 65 per cent dependence on the North American market as against the Indian IT industry exposure of 61 per cent.
Mr Nishar said the company aimed to improve its capacity utilisation from the current level of around 73 per cent.
He said that the Indian industry had been following the pattern of having some bench strength for future requirements and the need for higher capacity utilisation is all the important at this juncture.
