Govt to provide Rs 7000 crore bank loan to SHGs: AP CM
Hyderabad, Feb 14 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today said the government would provide Rs 7000 crore worth bank loans to women Self Help Groups (SHGs) during the year at Pavala Vaddi (25 paise) interest rate.
Participating in 87th Jayanthi celebrations of late Damodaram Sanjeevayya, organised by the government here, Dr Reddy said the loans would also be provided to backward class communities, who were the members of the SHGs.
Stating that his government was committed to the welfare of SCs and STs, as they were socially and economically backward, compared to other communities, he said the dreams of the departed Congress leader and former Chief Minister would be realised by his government.
Observing that the housing facility would be provided to poor people next year under 'INDIRAMMA' scheme, Dr Reddy said ration cards were provided to 1.82 crore families with one kg rice for Rs two from April.
Planning Commission member BL Mungekar said the centre was committed to achieve faster and inclusive growth in the 11th five year plan to reach the benefits of the economic development to the poor, downtrodden and toiling masses.
