Indore, Feb 14: A case of forgery has been registered against Leader of the Opposition in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly and senior Congress leader Jamuna Devi, her daughter Dr Hemlata and brother late Narayan Singh Singar for facilitating Hemlata's admission to a medical college in 1965 on the basis of a 'bogus' Scheduled Tribe certificate.

The case under sections 420, 465 and 471 IPC has been registered at Samyogitaganj police station here yesterday.

A complaint in this regard had been lodged by Ram Singh Pallavi, a resident of village Mehnu in Khandwa district, in August, 2007.

During investigation by Bhopal's Superintendent of Police (Scheduled Caste Welfare), it was found that Dr Hemlata got admission on the basis of a bogus certificate of belonging to Scheduled Tribe, issued by Narayan Singh Singar.

Ms Jamuna Devi had married Gulabchand Verma, who belonged to Other Backward Classes and her daughter could not be given the benefit of a Scheduled Tribe, the complaint said.
