Lucknow, Feb 14 (UNI) An anonymous call claiming the presence of a bomb at the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court here created panic.
Police said the caller informed the control room about the bomb in the Bench premises. After which it rushed a bomb detection and disposal squad (BDDS) around 1545 hrs.
So far, the BDDS could not find any explosives.
Several policemen were deployed in and around the premises to move out lawyers, judges and other out of the area. Some suspicious looking people were also detained for frisking, police added.
In November, 2007 bombs planted on cycles had went off in civil court premises of Lucknow, Faizabad and Varanasi, killing 13 and injuring scores. Two Harkat-ul-Jehad Islami militants were arrested from Barabanki for their involvement in the blasts.
Following the blasts, security had been tightened around the courts. Vehicles are not allowed inside court premises.
