Adampur, Amritsar remain below zero degree C

Jalandhar, Feb 13: People braved cold conditions as the night temperature continued to remain below zero degree at Adampur in Punjab despite a bright sunshine.

According to a Defence spokesperson, the Indian Air Force (IAF) station at Adampur, near here recorded the minimum temperature at minus 1.1 degree celsius as against yesterday's minus 1.4 degree celsius. It was the fourth successive night when the minimum temperature registered below the zero mark.

The minimum temperature in holy city of Amritsar also plunged to minus 1.0 degree celsius. The night temperature recorded at Halwara Airforce station near Ludhiana was 2.6 degrees celsius, an increase of just 1.0 degree from yesterday's 1.6 degrees celsius.

The border town of Pathankot and Bathinda, both were equally cold at 4.4 degrees celsius.

The night temperature registered in the Union Territory of Chandigarh was 5.6 degrees celsius.

The Defence Met Section has predicted mist and haze in the morning and fair to fine weather during the day in the next 24 hours.
