New Delhi, Feb 14 (UNI) The Railway police today arrested a person who was impersonating as a DIG, police said.

Satish Kumar(49), a resident of Bhopal, was arrested by officials of the Railway vigilance this afternoon from the Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station just when he disembarked from the Bhopal Express. Satish kumar, who called himself a DIG, had travelled on the train by managing free ticket available to gallantry pass owners.

On being asked for his ID card, Satish could not produce any, which raised the suspicion of the Railway officials. On interrogation, he admitted to impersonating as a DIG.

Satish told police that while his stay in Agra, he had developed an acquaintance with a DIG of the UP police S Tripathi. During his frequent visits to the DIG's house, he managed to steal his gallantry pass, which entitles these officials to free rail travel, and got a colour photocopy of it.

Satish, along with his 19-year old daughter, travelled from Bhopal to Delhi by Bhopal Express which reached the Hazrat Nizamuddin station at around 1400 hours today.

A case of impersonating as a police official had been lodged against the accused.
