37 villages and colonies to get power on urban mode
Chandigarh, Feb 14 (UNI) In view of Chief Minister's announcement regarding power supply on urban mode to the consumers located within a radius of 10 Km of Thermal Power Plant, Yamunanagar, the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran has identified 37 villages and residential colonies out of which the work of implementation of High Voltage Distribution System/ Low Voltage Distribution System has been completed at 24 places and is in progress at 13 locations.
A spokesman said here today that the Nigam has started implementation of HVDS/LVDS with a view to ensure uninterrupted power supply to consumers with better voltage. The work is in progress at 129 locations in district Panchkula, Ambala, Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Karnal, Panipat, Sonipat, Jind, Rohtak and Jhajjar.
The Nigam had completed the work in 170 villages and 61 residential colonies of towns so far.
Referring to implementation of HVDS/LVDS in the villages within a radius of upcoming Indira Gandhi Super Thermal Power Project Jhajjar, he said, four villages namely; Jharli, Gauriya, Khanpur Khurd and Mohanbari had been identified within a radius of 10 Km of the project.
The Nigam has directed the field office to start the process of implementation of the system in these villages also immediately.
The spokesman further stated that there had been a significant reduction in damage rate of distribution transformers and system breakdowns in the villages where the Nigam had implemented the HVDS or LVDS.
