Kendrapara, Feb 13 (UNI) A woman had given birth to identitical prematured triplet, a rare medical case, in a state owned hospital at Jagatsinghpur, but later all the babies died.
Hospital sources said all the three new borns died a few minutes after they saw the light.
Twenty-year-old Narmada Sahu, a resident of Alatalanga under Niali police station, was admitted to the hospital yesterday where she gave birth to two male children and a baby girl.
The condition of the mother and new borns was alright, but soon the babies health deteriorated and all died quickly.
Paediatric specialist Naresh Acharaya said cases like this, called "naturally conceived monochrorionic tripriamniotic triplets", are found one in three million births.
Narmada's case was more exceptional as she had identical or monozygous triplets, where the three umbilical chords shared the same placental vessels and the babies had the same blood group.
