Supaul, Feb 13 (UNI) Railway Minister Lalu Prasad today held the Thackeray family responsible for fanning ''enmity and hatred'' between north Indians and Marathis in Maharastra and said this sort of trend should be firmly dealt with.
While addressing a function at Islamia Arabia institute at Saraigarh block near here, Mr Prasad said a single family's 'nefarious design' to jeopardise the unity and integrity of the country would not be allowed to succeed.
''Every citizen in the country has the right to earn his livelihood at any place in the country without fear or discrimination,'' he said, adding anyone trying to infringe upon the rights granted under the Constitution would not be spared.
Mocking the BJP's decision to project Mr Lal Krishna Advani as the prime ministerial candidate, Mr Prasad said the election was not even ''round the corner'' and some political leaders were already dreaming of becoming Prime Minister.
''Moreover, the horoscope of Mr Advani does not augur well for his ambition to become the Prime Minister of the country,'' he poked fun.
