Bhopal, Feb 13 (UNI) By bestowing on Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Personnel Suresh Pachouri the presidentship of the Congress Madhya Pradesh unit, the party high command has set at rest a leadership dilemma and also sounded the bugle for poll preparations.
A political balance has been struck by making Congress MLA and former minister Ajay Singh the head of the state Publicity Committee as his name was also among claimants for the state unit chief.
Mr Pachouri steps into Mr Subhash Yadav's shoes. Discussion of the latter's removal from the post was doing the rounds for a considerable period of time. Mr Yadav constantly struggled to unite Congress factions but in vain.
Party sources said that Mr Pachouri's appointment ended the indecisiveness among the workers and election preps would begin in right earnest. For the Congress, caught in a quagmire of groupism, crossing the electoral Rubicon is a herculean challenge. Taking along the supporters of Congress General Secretary and former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Digvijay Singh would be no easy task for any Congress leader.
