Morena(MP), Feb 13 (UNI) A 35-year-old man, who was kidnapped about four month ago from Gwalior and found tied to a tree in a forest, was rescued by the Madhya Pradesh police after an encounter with the notorious dacoit gang led by Vakila Gurjar, police said today.
The encounter took place in Pagara forest under Jaura police station area of this district last night on a tip-off about the presence of the gang, Superintendent of Police S K Singh said.
Exchange of fire continued for about half an hour and the dacoits retreated. Later Rameshwar Kushwaha, who was kidnapped from Gwalior in October last year, was found tied to a tree. Besides being subjected to torture, he was also kept in noose. The dacoit gang was demanding a ransom of Rs five lakh for his release.
The dacoit gang was active in border areas of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.
