Low pressure causes rain in AP
Hyderabad, Feb 13 (UNI) Rain occurred at many places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana under the influence of a trough of low pressure today.
Indian Meteorology Department (IMD) officials predicted light to moderate rains or thundershowers at a few places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Rayalaseema in the next 24 hours due to the low pressure in Bay of Bengal passing over Coastal Andhra from Orissa to South Tamil Nadu.
Isolated rain occurred over Rayalaseema, while Khammam, Kunavaram and Narayanakhed recorded heavy rainfall of seven cm each.
The other chief amounts of rainfall recorded in cm were Tiruvuru six, Golkonda five, Mahabubnagar and Kadiri four each, Bhadrachalam, Hyderabad, Narsapur, Bobbili, Hindupur, Kandukur, Nizamsagar, Palakonda and Veeraghattam three each.
The minimum temperature fell at one or two places over Telangana and changed a little over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema.
They were significantly above normal at a few places over Rayalaseema and many places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
The lowest minimum temperature of 13 degrees Celsius was recorded at Adilabad.
