Chennai, Feb 13 (UNI) Likening her political mentor and former Chief Minister M G Ramachandran to Lord ''Ram'' and her bete-noire and DMK President M Karunanidhi to ''Ravana'', AIADMK General Secretary J Jayalalithaa today vowed to send ''Ravana'' to political exile and bring back ''Ram Raj'' in Tamil Nadu.
Armed with a General Council resolution, which authorised her to decide on the alliance issue for the coming Lok Sabha and 2011 Assembly elections, Ms Jayalalithaa, addressing the General Council here, claimed ''the day is not far off when we rule both Tamil Nadu and India''.
Quoting Valmiki Ramayana, she said while Lord Ram had suffered 14 years of exile and Ravana was a king till his death, ''our Ram (M G Ramachandran) has sent modern day Ravana (Karunanidhi) to 13 years exile and ruled the state from 1977 to 1987''.
She claimed Mr Karunanidhi, after losing power in 1976 (when his government was dismissed by the Centre), managed to come back to power only in 1989 due to some ''political accident'' and the fight was going on between the ''good and evil forces'' and the day was not far off to throw away the evil forces.
After the demise of ''Ram'', his disciples were waging a war against ''Ravana'' and the war would come to an end soon, Ms Jayalalithaa said and exhorted partymen to work with renewed vigour to come back to power and ensure permanent exile to ''Ravana'' (Karunanidhi).
Launching a blistering attack against the media for criticising her, she said it was opposed to stalwarts like C N Annadurai and MGR, but they could emerge victorious with people's support.
Even the present leaders like Narendra Modi and Mayawati never had the support of the media, but they had proved that they could emerge victorious with the support of the people, she added.
