Delhi Police saves family trapped in fire

New Delhi, Feb 13 (UNI) The Delhi Police today claimed to have saved the lives of three members of a family, including a child, trapped in a room of their house which had caught fire.

They said the staff of PCR van Z-13 received a call that fire had erupted in a house at Safdarjung Enclave in South Delhi early today and a family was trapped inside a room in the second floor.

The PCR van immediately rushed to the spot and found smoke emanating from the room with the family shouting for help.

The police personnel somehow managed to reach the second floor of the house and broke open the window panes to enter the room, putting their lives in danger.

They rescued the couple along with the child and also removed the gas cylinder from the room filled with smoke.

The police said the PCR van staff averted a tragedy by acting swiftly and arriving at the scene before the fire tenders reached there.
