WB: CID siezes 160 kg ganja; arrests 2

Cooch Behar, Feb 13: The CID sleuths today arrested two people and seized about 160 kgs of ganja worth Rs 1,30,000 during a raid here.

CID Inspector Partho Majumder said the sleuths raided the house of one Kesto Sarkar(35) at Kargil Bazar here and recovered the huge amount of contraband. They also arrested his partner Ashok Dubey alias Pandit from there.

Mr Majumder said Dubey, from Bihar, had paid the money to buy ganja from Sarkar.

Police said the market value of the ganja was about Rs 10 lakh.

He said that the investigation was on to ascertain the involvement of any racket.
