11 Rajasthani women arrested in Meghalaya
Shillong, Feb 13 (UNI) Altogether eleven women from Rajasthan were arrested for collecting money illegally from people in Meghalaya without the approval of district authorities, police said here today.
The women were arrested yesterday from Laitumkhrah area while extorting money from the shopkeepers, police said.
However, the arrested have claimed that they were collecting money with an aim to help those people affected by natural calamities in Rajasthan.
Meanwhile, they have been produced in the court and remanded to police custody for further interrogation.
