SAIL, Mumbai enter Quarter finals

Hyderabad, Feb 12 (UNI) Fancied teams including defending champion SAIL and Mumbai entered quarter finals of the Junior National Hockey (U-18) Championships being played at SAAP Hockey Complex,Gachibowli, here today.

Ved Prakash scored 13 goals including two hatricks while Amit hit 5. Team maters Anil and Arjun scored 4 goals each helping Haryana record highest margin of victory hammering Pondicherry 35-0.

While Mumbai blanked Assam 13-0, SAIL defeated Chandigarh 2-1 after the teams could not score in the first half.

Results: Manipur bt Uttaranchal 4-0, Jarkhand bt Bhopal 4-1, Rajastan bt Maharashtra 4-3 (2-2), Haryana bt Pondichery 35-0, Bengal bt Kerala 3-1, Mumbai bt Assam 13-0, SAIL bt Chandigarh 2-1 (0-0).
