New Delhi, Feb 12 (UNI) The government has set up a state-of-art Energy Conservation Technology Centre (CTC) for display of energy efficient products and technologies.
The centre, established by Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA), was inaugurated by Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas Additional Secretary S Sundareshan here, an official statement said.
''The centre will provides a common platform to the manufacturers of such items that have the potential to contribute significantly towards savings of energy,'' it said.
The CTC is also intended to be a nodal point for exposition of energy efficient technologies, both nascent and in different stages of development.
Some of the energy efficient items on display are industrial equipment like motors and lighting, products of mass consumption such as kerosene lamps and stoves that have been developed after painstaking research, energy labeled white consumer goods like air conditioners and refrigerators, innovative building components that save energy.
The centre also showcases technological advances in bio-diesel, wind energy, fuel efficiency in transport sector.
''The center is designed to be a stimulant for young scientists in schools and colleges who can contribute to the development of energy efficient products by their ideas, experiments and researches,'' the statement said.
