Global seminar on flight testing to open on Feb 14
Bangalore, Feb 12 (UNI) A two-day 'International Flight Test Seminar', organised by the Aircraft and Systems Testing Establishment (ASTE), will be held here on February 14 and 15.
According to an official statement here today, the seminar, organised to mark '60 years of Flight Testing' in independent India, was co-sponsored by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).
It was expected to facilitate exchange of flight test ideas and appropriately redirect the future evolution of flight testing in the country.
Union Minister of State for Defence M M Pallam Raju would inaugurate the seminar. Air Chief Marshal F H Major, Chief of Air Staff, Indian Air Force would deliver the keynote address.
Scientific Adviser to Defence Minister M Natarajan and HAL Chairman A K Baweja would also participate in the inaugural function.
During the plenary sessions, Dr Kota Harinarayana, Scientific Emeritus, would talk about the complexities of design, development and flight testing of the Tejas and Air Bus Flight Division Senior Vice-President Claude Lelaie would talk about the conception of design, flight testing and certification of Airbus a-380.
Delegates from the US, the UK, France, Russia, Israel, Italy and also from the IIT and DRDO Labs would present the papers, the release added.
