K'taka terror link: Asif's CoD custody extended
Bangalore, Feb 12: A local court today extended the CoD custody of terror suspect Mohammed Asif and posted hearing of his bail application to later in the day. Asif was produced in the house of the Judicial Municipal First Class Judge amidst tight security, due to the tense situation that prevailed in the wake of lawyers opposing the grant of bail to him and against advocates, who moved his bail application.
Elaborate bandobust was made in the court, where Asif's bail application would come up for hearing in the afternoon. Yesterday, lawyers had boycotted court proceedings and took out a protest march against fellow-lawyer Mohammadannavar, who had moved Asif's bail application. The Ram Sena workers, who were up in arms against Mohammadannavar for moving Asif's bail application, staged a protest and tried to prevent him from entering the court.
