New Delhi, Feb 11 (UNI) In an aggressive marketing startegy, SpiceJet, India's leading low-frills airline, has announced a promotional offer for its passengers by giving away assured gifts worth Rs 5000 on every return booking -- a move intended to woo customers during lean travel months of February and March.
As per the scheme, travellers booking a return ticket will receive a scratch card which will entitle them to win gifts like digital cameras, holiday packages, Rs 5000 cash back or air tickets.
To avail this offer, travellers must book their return tickets between February 10 and 17 for travel up to March 31 on all SpiceJet sectors.
However, this offer is available only on www.spicejet.com.
Announcing the special offer, SpiceJet Chief Commercial Officer Samyukth Sridharan said, ''As a leading low cost airline, we, at SpiceJet, constantly try and encourage air travel by keeping our fares affordable. At the same time, we believe that innovative programmes can get people to choose air travel over other alternatives.'' Mr Sridharan said this promotion, the first of its kind in the Indian aviation industry, would encourage air travel during February and March, the two months when travelling is rather low.
''By restricting the promotion to our website, we ensure that the passenger is directly benefited by chosing to fly on SpiceJet.
Such website promotions are constantly used by successful LCCs (Low Cost Carriers) across the world to encourage travellers to increasingly use the Internet to make their bookings,'' he added.
