Chandigarh, Feb 11 (UNI) Rayat and Bahra Group of institutes today announced to set up two engineering colleges for girls as part of group's mega-expansion plan proposed from the coming session.
In a press conference here, Mr Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Vice Chairman, Rayat and Bahra Group announced the setting up of girls engineering college as part of group's much-awaited Education City coming up in Hoshiarpur along with some massive upgrading of the group's existing campuses.
While unveiling the plans, Mr Bahra said that one girls engineering college would be set up in Education City in Hoshiarpur while the second girls engineering institute would come up in Rayat Centre for Excellence at Sahauran campus.
The group's ambitious Medical City project in Kundli on Delhi- Haryana border is also set to roll any time in coming few months, informed Bahra.
The Education City in Hoshiarpur which will take off in the coming session with a dedicated Nano Technology campus in addition to two engineering colleges and separate colleges for pharmacy, management, and education.
Besides, a full fledged school and research institute will add up to the composite character of the Education city which will provide a complete range of primary, tertiary and higher educational facilities to the students, he said.
The two engineering colleges will cater to IT, CSE, Civil, Electronics and Communication streams in Engineering.
One college would be a dedicated girls college while the other one would be co-educational, informed Mr Bahra.
He further added that the Education City will be situated on a 50-acre area which will be eventually expanded to a 100 acre all inclusive zone. It will enroll around 1000 students in the first year with an in-campus faculty residence with 15 buses for transportation.
Mr Bahra also said that the Rayat and Bahra group's prestigious Medical City would be ready at Kundli on New Delhi-Haryana border in a few months.
Sharing expansion plans for existing Rayat Technology Campus at Railmajra, near Ropar, Mr Bahra said that 100 more seats would be added to B.Ed course in Rayat College of Education taking the total number of seats to 200.
The group would be starting new M.Ed and M Pharmacy courses along with M.Tech in Electronics and Communication which will add to existing M.Tech in CSE and Mechanical Engineering.
Mr Bahra added that a separate women's engineering college would be started in addition to an already existing co-educational engineering college at the Rayat and Bahra Centre of Excellence campus at Sahauran, near Kharar.
Besides, Rayat and Bahra Centre for excellence would also see new courses in management, insurance, banking and retail apart from an M.Ed course which would begin in ensuing session.
The seats for B.Ed here again will be increased from 100 to 200.
Mr Bahra added that a 100-bed medical college-cum-hospital will start functioning on the campus which will be upgraded to a 750-bed unit in next 5 years.
MBBS, Dental, Nursing and Para Medical course would commence in the next session, he said.
