Pro-Kannada activists stage protest on Lalu's arrival
Bangalore, Feb 11 (UNI) City police today arrested over 30 activists of Karantaka Rakshana Vedike (KRS), who tried to stage protest against Union Railway Minister Lalu Prasad, when he arrived to inaugurate the state's first 'Model Station' at Yesvanthpur here.
The activists were rounded-up by the police, when they tried to enter the station where the Railway Minister was to attend a function.
The activists were protesting against South Western Railways' step-motherly attitude in appointing locals during the Group-D recruitment.
Later, strongly defending the recruitment process, Mr Prasad said it was being done on all-India basis, in which every Indian was eligible to get this opportunity and the Railways was not against Kannagidas.
