Pakistani coast guards arrest 11 Indian fishermen
Karachi, Feb 11 (UNI) Pakistani coast guards arrested 11 Indian fishermen for illegally fishing in its territorial waters in the Arabian Sea, officials said today.
Pakistan Maritime Security Agency also seized two boats along with the fishermen, some 35 kilometres inside Pakistani territorial waters yesterday.
The latest arrests came days after Pakistani maritime authorities issued a fresh warning to Indian fishermen asking them to avoid entering the country's territorial waters for fishing.
All the eleven Indian fishermen were handed over to dock police in Karachi, which will produce them before a local court.
Analysts believe that unclear demarcation of area leads to inadvertant crossing and arrest of fishermen by respective maritime officials.
There are more than 200 Indian fishermen in the custody of Pakistani authorities, while some 120 Pakistani fishermen are languishing in Indian jails.
