NMCE launches June-2008 contracts in Turmeric, Soy oil

Ahmedabad, Feb 11 (UNI) The city-based National Multi-Commodity Exchange (NMCE) today launched a new series for futures contract in Turmeric, soy oil and guar seed.

The commodities are available for online trading on the NMCE terminals across the country from today.

The three new series, called June-2008 contracts in respective commodities, will expire on June 20, 2008, while the delivery period for each will begin three days prior to that on June 17.

The Delivery centre for turmeric is Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC) warehouse at Erode in Tamil Nadu, and the other centre is at CWC Nizamabad in Andhra Pradesh.

The delivery centre for soy oil is Indore in Madhya Pradesh, and that for guar seed at Jodhpur, Bikaner, Nokha in Rajasthan and at Deesa in Gujarat with freight discount through CWC Warehouse Receipt (WR).

At present, NMCE runs futures contracts in 104 series in 27 commodities, notably rubber, pepper, cardamom, raw jute, menthol crystal, metals, castor seed, other oilseeds and their derivatives.
