Nation pays homage to late President Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed

New Delhi, Feb 11 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today led the nation in paying homage to late President Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed on his 31st death anniversary.

Dr Singh and Home Minister Shivraj Patil this morning paid floral tributes at the mausoleum of Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed, who served as the fifth President of India from 1974 to 1977.

Floral wreaths were offered on behalf of President Pratibha Devisingh Patil and Congress president Sonia Gandhi.

A host of other dignitaries and family of the late President attended the prayer meeting.

Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed died in office.
