Kamat demands arrest of Raj Thackeray, Abu Azmi
Mumbai, Feb 11 (UNI) Welcoming the registration of first information report (FIR) against Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray and Samajwadi Party (SP) state president Abu Asim Azmi, Mumbai Regional Congress Committee (MRCC) president Gurudas Kamat today demanded their 'arrest' for disturbing the peace in the metropolis.
''It is a delayed action. But we are happy that finally police have registered an offence under 153 (A) and we do not want to blame Chief Minister or Deputy Chief Minister for the delay, as it was the duty of the police to take action,'' said Mr Kamat while talking to reporters here.
Defending Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister, the senior Congress leader said it was for the police to take action based on the video footage and provocative speeches and denied the media reports that the government was afraid of political fallout of Raj's arrest.
