India to have Aerospace Command soon: Air Chief
Gandhinagar, Feb 11 (UNI) With a view to attaining highest security in the Indian sky, the Indian Air Force (IAF) will soon establish Aerospace Command, Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal F H Major said here today.
''To combat with enemies in an era of modern warfare, we need eyes in the sky and the best way to do it is by setting up an Aerospace Command,'' the Air Chief told mediapersons at the headquarters of the South-Western Air Command (SWAC) here.
''The Aerospace Command is not a need of the Indian Air Force alone but, can well serve the Indian Navy and the Armed Forces,'' he said.
''The Aerospace Command will enhance the Indian Armed Forces' defence and attack capabilities, but it there is time before it becomes a reality,'' he added.
