Aizawl, Feb 11 (UNI) Karnataka supercop-turned-MP H T Sangliana is likely to be BJP's Chief Ministerial candidate in the Mizoram Assembly polls.
BJP state president Khawvelthanga told mediapersons here today that he has proposed Mr Sangliana's have to the Centre.
However, there were rumours that the Bangalore North BJP MLA would be contesting on a Congress ticket.
Mr Khawvelthanga also alleged that the ruling MNF (Mizo National front) was spreading such statements for its vested interests.
He said the state unit have persuaded the party's national executive to include the Mautam (famine due to excessive bamboo flowering) in Mizoram in the national resolution on agriculture.
The party would organise a 'Kisan rally' here on February 22 to highlight the failure of the MNF government in protect the interests of the farmers.
Party leaders such as Rajnath Singh, Venkaiah Naidu and Arun Jaitly might spearhead the rally.
He also alleged that the Congress' policy of New Land Use Policy (NLUP) and MNF's Mizoram Intodelhna (self-sufficiency) Project (MIP) have totally failed in the state.
