Upper trough persists over TN, heavy rains likely
Chennai, Feb 10 (UNI) Several parts of the city, especially the suburbs, received scattered rainfall since this morning as the upper trough formed over Tamil Nadu still persists.
The trough was expected to bring more rains in few parts of the State and Puducherry during the next 48 hours.
Weather office sources told UNI today that ''under its influence isolated heavy rain was likely to occur at few places over Tamil Nadu and Puducherry in the next 48 hours''.
Chennai city, which experienced intermittent drizzles from morning, would have generally cloudy skies with possibility of rain in some areas.
Suburban Meenambakkam recorded 2.7 mm of rain during the last 24 hours ending 0800 hrs this morning.
