Mumbai, Feb 10 : Shiv Sena Executive President Uddhav Thackeray worried over his cousin Raj Thackeray hijacking 'Marathi pride' plank, has said that Mahrashtrians must get preference for jobs in the Mumbai Airport project.

Uddhav, while speaking at a rally of the Shiv Sena-affiliated Airport Workers and Officers Union on Saturday, said his party would not tolerate workers "brought from outside."

"I want to say that as and when the promised one lakh job opportunities will come up, priority should be given to the sons of the soil. All outsiders will be considered after our Marathi Manoos (Marathi person)," said Uddhav, son of Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray.

"If this is not done then we shall pack and parcel them (outsiders) back from where they came, and in the same flight," he said.

Uddhav said that the Shiv Sena is not against development, but development should not affect us adversely and destroy families of the workers.

He said that the Mumbai Airport has been named after Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj after much struggle.

"Here, we want to see a Marathi nameplate welcoming those coming to Mumbai," he added.

He also took a swipe at Raj, and said "Marathi people know what is original and what is fake."

"Marathi people and Shiv Sena have an unbreakable bond. That is why it has upset some people. The events during the last week are an indication," he added.
