Two cricket bookies arrested in Bangalore
Bangalore, Feb 10 (UNI) The Central Crime Branch of the city police has arrested two people on charges of betting in today's one-day match between India and Australia being held at Melbourne.
Police said the duo, Ramesh (42) and Dipal (52), both cloth merchants, were accepting bets from some people in Rajajinagar on behalf of bookies based in Chennai, when they were apprehended today.
Dealings to the tune of Rs 31 lakh were unearthed. Police seized Rs 13,050 in cash, four mobile phones and a landline phone.
