Nepali Congress criticises Maoist conduct
Kathmandu, Feb 10 (UNI) The Nepali Congress (NC) has criticised the ongoing violent activities by Maoist cadres in different parts of the country.
It also urged them to stop such unruly acts and respect past pacts and understandings reached with the government.
The party said in a statement yesterday that the repeated attacks on its leaders and supporters by Maoist cadres have raised doubts over their commitment to holding the Constituent Assembly (CA) election in time.
It urged the Maoists to play a responsible role and assist in creating an election-friendly atmosphere for making the election a success, Kantipuronline reported.
According to the NC, Maoist cadres had disrupted their political program organised at Purchauni Hat VDC of Baitadi on Friday and attacked Congress lawmaker Narendra Bahadur Bom, former lawmaker Krishna Kumar Joshi and other leaders and activists.
Over a dozen NC leaders and supporters reportedly sustained injuries in thae attack.
The NC also suspended all its poll related campaigns and other programs in the Baitadi district, citing Maoists' atrocities.
