Kidney racket kingpin remanded to 12-day CBI custody
New Delhi, Feb 10 (UNI) Kidney racket kingpin Dr Amit Kumar was today remanded to 12-day CBI custody.
Dr Kumar, brought to Delhi last evening, two days after his arrest in Nepal, was presented before Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Sanjeev Jain at his official residence.
The CMM remanded Dr Kumar to CBI custody till February 22 and ordered to produce him before the CBI court, Ambala the same day.
Dr Kumar was arrested from Nepal on the basis of a Red Corner Notice issued by the Interpol on a request by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
The CBI had registered an FIR against Dr Kumar and others on February 8 under Sections 420, 342, 326, 506, 120(B) of the IPC and Section 18 and 19 of the Transplantation of Human Organs Act, 1994.
